Cornelius is a 2- to 3-year-old big, handsome brown tabby with a heart full of love. He’s been through a lot, but he’s ready to find a family who will cherish him forever.
Cornelius once had a home, but for reasons he doesn’t understand, he was left to fend for himself. He searched for food and eventually found a kind woman feeding some outdoor cats. She welcomed him, and from that moment on, he knew kindness still existed.
One day, while looking for more friendly faces, Cornelius approached the wrong house. Instead of kindness, he was met with cruelty—struck so hard that he lost consciousness. Injured and in pain, he managed to drag himself back to the kind woman’s home before passing out again. She immediately called Fat Cat Rescue, and they rushed him to the vet. His injuries were severe—his jaw had to be realigned, some teeth were removed, and he lost sight in one eye due to the impact. After weeks of recovery, his damaged eye had to be removed. Thanks to the love and care of his rescuers, Cornelius healed, both physically and emotionally.
Despite everything, Cornelius is an affectionate, gentle soul. He adores people, loves to be petted, and will happily curl up in a lap. He even has the sweetest little chirps when he talks! He gets along well with other cats and has a playful side—he loves a good crinkle toy!
Cornelius is heading into foster care soon, and we can’t wait to learn more about his personality as he settles into a home environment. Could you be the happy ending he’s been waiting for? Apply to adopt this resilient, loving boy today!
